What you can expect
Just 10 kilometres from the energy of Medellín, the Ecotourism Park El Salado stands as a 17-hectare natural sanctuary — one of the last untouched ecosystems in the Aburrá Valley. This remnant of Andean forest, crossed by the ancestral Ayurá creek, offers a journey back in time to when this valley was a sacred refuge of nature.
Our hike follows ancient Indigenous trails that connected Medellín and Envigado to other regions, used for centuries to exchange goods, stories, and rituals. Today, walking these paths means stepping through living memory — a spiritual corridor where every curve whispers ancestral wisdom.
Throughout the walk, you’ll witness exceptional biodiversity: over 120 bird species, titi monkeys, crystal-winged butterflies, and flora such as cacao, avocado, citrus trees — and even wild coffee. The hidden waterfall, the spiritual climax of the journey, not only cools the body but nourishes the soul, offering space for reflection and stillness.
✨ Once at the waterfall, we’ll serve you a fresh cup of Perico Café, a premium Colombian coffee grown by rural families who migrated to Medellín in search of opportunity. Cultivated on the city’s green slopes, Perico Café is more than a delicious drink — it’s a symbol of resilience, dignity, and climate-aware agriculture.
☕ If you'd like to take the flavour home with you, we offer 340g bags (medium or dark roast) for COP 55,000 / approx. USD 14. Please let us know in advance, as we carry limited stock during the tour.
As part of our commitment to sustainability, we bring a reusable bag during the hike to collect any litter we may find along the way. This isn’t a chore — it’s a humble offering to leave the forest better than we found it, and a gentle act of care for the land that welcomes us.
