What you can expect

Embark on a journey through time as we discover the ancient Guachimontones pyramids, an awe-inspiring testament to the ingenuity and vision of Western Mexico's indigenous civilisations.

From there, we shift to the heart of one of the world’s fastest-growing industries: tequila. In this exclusive, private experience, you'll gain insight into the fascinating world of tequila production, uncovering the key differences between industrial and artisanal methods, and exploring the political and environmental challenges that shape the industry today.

To top it all off, you’ll enjoy a guided tasting of artisanal tequila, where you’ll learn how to spot the flavours, aromas, and quality that make this spirit so special.

Finally, soak in the charm of the town of Tequila, a real Mexican pueblo full of local culture and tradition.

Unlike standard tours, we provide private transport exclusively for your group and a dedicated English-speaking guide with over 7 years of experience, ensuring a personalised experience tailored to your pace and preferences.

By the end of the tour you'll walk away with a deeper understanding of both the historical and current context of one of Mexico's most representative regions: El Valle de Tequila.

ITINERARY:

After a scenic 1-hour drive from Guadalajara, your guide will lead you through the archaeological site of Guachimontones for 1 hour, revealing fascinating facts about the indigenous civilisation that populated the valley 2000 years ago. Delve deeper into their mysteries with a visit to the on-site museum.

Next, we head to a hidden gem: a family-owned tequila hacienda and distillery. On a private 1-hour tour, discover the secrets of artisanal production and enjoy a private guided tasting of 4 types of tequila. Take home a piece of the magic with exclusive, factory-priced bottles.

The next stop is the charming 16th-century village of Tequila. Savour an authentic market lunch and sip on refreshing “cantarito” cocktails in the main square. Stroll the village's colourful streets at your own pace.

As we return, we'll stop by the rolling agave fields, a UNESCO Cultural Landscape of the Humanities. Take in the breathtaking scenery and capture stunning photos to commemorate this unique experience.

The drive back to Guadalajara will take approximately 1 to 2 hours, depending on traffic.
