Your guide will pick you up at 2.30PM on the Esplanade de l'Europe in Montpellier, Set off for a half-day escape through the wild landscapes of the Camargue. We will pick you up in a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan for a journey rich in history, nature, and local flavours.
Our first stop will be the medieval town of Aigues-Mortes, famous for its impressive fortified walls. Step back in time as you explore this historic city, founded in the 13th century by King Louis IX. Enjoy a guided walk along the ramparts, then take some free time to wander the charming cobbled streets, browse the local boutiques, and soak up the vibrant atmosphere of the town squares.
Next, indulge in a tasting of local specialities: the famous “fougasse” (sweet bread), Camargue salt, and other traditional delights.
The tour continues with a visit to the Tour Carbonnière, a medieval watchtower surrounded by scenic marshlands. Climb to the top for breathtaking panoramic views over the unique landscapes of the Camargue, where nature reigns supreme. You will be back in Montpellier around 5.30pm
