This picturesque lake is surrounded by lush greenery, making it a true gem of the region. During the visit, you can enjoy a relaxing walk around the lake, rent a catamaran, or take a dip in the crystal-clear waters. In addition, if you wish, you can savour some delicious local cuisine at a family-run tavern. Our knowledgeable guide will recommend the best dishes and help you navigate the menu like a local. After a satisfying lunch, the guide will drive you to another beautiful city, Rethymnon.

After short driving to Rethymno (approx. 30 min from Kournas Lake), you will have the opportunity to explore the old town, which is home to charming narrow streets, picturesque buildings, and stunning architecture. Your guide will take you to visit the Venetian harbour, one of the most beautiful spots in Rethymno, where you can enjoy the sea view and take memorable photos. Your guide will share the history of Rethymno with you, including the city's long and diverse cultural heritage, and point out notable landmarks and buildings as you explore. Additionally, you'll have time to stroll through the bustling markets, where you can purchase souvenirs, local products, and handicrafts. After a leisurely stroll through Rethymno, we'll make our way back to your hotel (approx. 1h ride to Heraklion area).
