What you can expect

Welcome to Baltimore! This self-guided audio tour is a real catch for history buffs as it narrates the city's past in detail across city centre historic sites.

You will start the tour looking up at the hallmark Bromo Seltzer Tower, built in 1911 by an ambitious local pharmacist to mimic Florence's stunning Palazzo Vecchio.

At the Davidge Hall, it will startle you how the early medical students procured cadavers for dissections back in the 19th century. Then, at the haunted-looking Westminster Church and Cemetery, you will hear more gravedigger stories and see a monument to macabre writer and poet Edgar Allan Poe buried there.

After that, the tour will take you to the elegant Mount Vernon area and introduce you to one of the city's most prominent benefactors, Enoch Pratt, as you approach his mansion. At the sett-stone square nearby, you will see the massive Washington Monument, the first one to America's first president.

Don't miss browsing the Walters Art Museum's premier collection of international art and artefacts next door. After the art-looking, going to the Ex-Langham Hotel site, you will get to know about the fabled Ouija Board divining tool, patented in 1891.

You will finish the tour at the Enoch Pratt Free Library, a splendid gift from Enoch Pratt to Baltimoreans, and be amazed by its interior and content abundance of over 1 million physical items.

Join this tour and relive the action-packed stories behind the old iconic facades of Baltimore!
