Description

On this exclusive guided tour, go behind the scenes to discover the beginnings of Renaissance art and culture at the incredible Florence Baptistery, otherwise known as the Baptistery of St John. Visit the stunning elevated gallery of Matroneo and other historic highlights of the Duomo complex.

The Florence Baptistery is the oldest monument of the expansive Duomo complex and it stands as an incredible icon of the Renaissance period and a perfect example of Florentine architecture. Start your tour with a fascinating video presentation which explains how the enormous complex of the Cathedral was created over centuries, before venturing inside the Baptistery with your guide.

Enjoy a rare opportunity to climb the magnificent elevated gallery of Matroneo, once reserved only for women, and marvel at the beautiful shining mosaics and marble flooring. At the end of your visit, savour delicious Chianti wine, paired perfectly with Italian cheeses and balsamic vinegar.

Finally, you're given a Duomo entrance ticket, so you can explore the complex at your leisure, including Brunelleschi's Dome, Giotto's Bell Tower and the Crypt of Santa Reparata.
