Know before you book

  • The bus departs from opposite Athens Larissis station at 08:00 am. You must check in at least 15 minutes before departure.

What you can expect

Take a day trip from Athens to see the breathtaking wonders of the Meteora Monasteries that perch atop cliffs. You have a full day to explore at your leisure with transport to get you to the main hot spot, as well as from Athens to Kalambaka.

Catch the 7:30 AM bus to Kalambaka, sit back and relax as the bus passes through the wonderfully scenic countryside of Greece. Arriving in Kalambaka at approximately 12:30 AM, the sun is high in the sky, casting few shadows over the stunning view of this city at the base of the cliffs.

At the rail station, you will meet your English-speaking escort who is holding a sign with your name on it and you will enjoy a convenient transfer to the Meteora Monasteries. For about 4 hours, in a small-group, you can sightsee, visiting 3 of the monasteries that are a part of the UNESCO World Heritage Monument list as well as the hermit caves of Badovas.

At the end of the day, your driver returns you to Kalambaka, where you have time to stroll around and have a light dinner if you'd like. At 5:00 PM, the bus departs from Kalambaka, and arrives at 10:00 PM back in Athens.
