What you can expect

  • Enjoy an immersive and exclusive experience in the heart of the Reimonenq Distillery, located in Sainte-Rose, in the north of Basse-Terre, one of the last family-run distilleries in Guadeloupe. Accompanied by a local guide and in a small group, you will discover Guadeloupean rum through a four-stage journey, inspired by the four rum “prises” (drinks) that traditionally punctuate the day.
First stage: Décolaj – The sugarcane fields
Your immersive experience begins in the heart of the sugarcane fields. You will learn about the plant, its connection to the land and its importance in local history. The experience begins with an initial rum tasting, accompanied by a didiko, and is punctuated by a cultural performance related to the fields. Soft drinks are also available.
Second part: Ti lagoute – The Rum Museum
You will then continue with a visit to the Rum Museum, the only one of its kind in Guadeloupe, which tells the storey of rum, the Reimonenq family, distillation and the region, while also showcasing a remarkable collection of insects. Another rum and didiko tasting. You will enter the world of Léopold Reimonenq.
Third part: CRS – The Distillery
Next, dive into the heart of the family's expertise, from sugar cane to rum. You will discover the production stages and the secrets of this iconic heritage. A rum tasting and local food tasting.
Fourth stage: Pété pieds – The Reimonenq family home
The experience ends in the private gardens of the Reimonenq estate, a family-oriented and intimate place usually closed to the public. There, you will enjoy a final rum tasting, accompanied by a local sweet treat and a cultural performance, in a friendly and authentic atmosphere.
This unique immersive experience offers you the distillery's four iconic tastings, punctuated by culture, knowledge-sharing and togetherness. An off-the-beaten-track experience to discover Guadeloupean rum in a different way, as close as possible to its history and to the people who bring it to life.
