The Andes Mountains hold much of our history and culture, in addition to being the great meeting place for the people of Mendoza. It invites us to travel along its winding roads, discovering unique landscapes at every turn and seeing both man-made creations, such as the Potrerillos Dam, and natural wonders, such as the Puente del Inca and Cerro Aconcagua.
Departing early in the morning on International Route No. 7 towards the town of Cacheutas, bordering the Mendoza River, with majestic views of the Cordón del Plata mountain range and the Potrerillos Dam. We'll then continue to Uspallata, a pre-Hispanic settlement of the Huarpe indigenous people. We'll then continue towards the villages of Picheuta, Polvaredas, Punta de Vacas and the former Los Penitentes ski resort. Further on, we'll come to Puente del Inca, a natural architectural marvel with thermal springs. Just a few kilometres away, at an altitude of 2,750 metres above sea level, is the vantage point of Mount Aconcagua, the 6,959-meter-high colossus of the Americas.
Finally, we'll visit the village of Las Cuevas (on the border with Chile at 3,200 metres above sea level), and if the weather and road conditions allow, we'll round off the excursion with a visit to the Cristo Redentor landmark. Around noon, we'll stop for lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, hotel drop-off.
