Description

Join Desert Wonder Tours with our newest tour in taking a stroll through Northwest Arizona’s rich history built upon a combination of mining and the expansion of the Santa Fe Railway. Mining relics, steam engines and art come
together to tell of a fascinating era that is the real storey of the Southwest. Our first stop, Mohave Museum of History & Arts, a visit to Mohave Museum is a visit to the pioneer past. Dioramas depicting the development of the region and Mohave County’s history in mining of gold, silver, copper, and turquoise. Our second stop, The Kingman Railway Museum, the Kingman depot was added to the National Register of Historic Places in May 1986. This Historic Santa Fe style building houses several running model railway displays of various scales. Many earlier era scenes reflect the times and life of Kingman and surrounding areas.

Next, we head to the desert behind Mineral Park Mine in the Cerbat Mountains. Views of open pit Mineral Park and what's left of Cerbat Ghost town. From the Cerbat Mountains we head to Arizona Magma Mine for a short visit and photo opportunity. We finish this Historic Adventure with lunch at Yesterday's Restaurant in Chloride.
