Overview

  • Step inside one of the world's smallest and most exclusive wine appellations—just 85 hectares of elite vineyards. Unlike mass-produced tours, this experience offers rare access to “the evolution of the species”: a Montepulciano so refined it’s known as a “caress in a fist.” From 11th-century medieval roots to modern minimal-intervention winemaking, you’ll taste the dramatic influence of the Majella Mountains and the Adriatic Sea in every glass.

Activity itinerary

Discover one of the world's tiniest appellations – just 85 hectares nestled in a medieval village between the Adriatic Sea and the snow-capped Majella mountains. Villamagna's unique terroir, where clay meets limestone and dramatic day-night temperature shifts create magic, produces wines that are "a caress in a fist" – powerful yet elegant. Experience authentic winemaking that honours tradition and terroir. The guided winery tour unveils the philosophy of minimal intervention and maximum quality, culminating in a tasting of 3 distinctive Villamagna DOC wines in the tasting room – a journey for all five senses. Your Experience Options (both can be booked with pick up or not): - Enhanced Experience: Add a traditional aperitivo lunch or dinner featuring local flavours -Complete Immersion: Begin with a guided tour of medieval Villamagna village, then explore the winery and enjoy wine tasting with an aperitivo meal (4-5 hours) Immerse yourself in a wine region with roots dating back to 1059, where ancient vocation meets modern excellence. This is Abruzzo's hidden treasure – authentic, distinct, unforgettable.
