What you can expect

  • Experience the landscapes of Kenya’s Great Rift Valley on a guided hiking adventure to Mount Longonot, followed by a relaxing visit to Lake Naivasha. Combine an active morning on the mountain with scenic views, photography, and time on the water.
Your day begins with early morning pickup from your hotel or agreed location in Nairobi. Meet your driver-guide and enjoy an approximately two-hour journey to Mount Longonot National Park, depending on traffic. Along the way, an optional 20-minute stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint offers panoramic views and an opportunity to take photographs before continuing to the park.
On arrival, receive a briefing before beginning your guided hike. Follow the trail up the mountain’s steep slopes, taking breaks to catch your breath and appreciate the changing scenery. Your guide will support a steady pace as you make your way towards the crater rim.
At the rim, pause to admire the crater and sweeping views across the surrounding Rift Valley landscape. Enjoy time for photographs and a well-earned rest before descending to the starting point. The hiking duration depends on your pace and the route covered.
After your hike, continue to Lake Naivasha for a lunch break and a boat ride. Exchange the mountain trails for a peaceful journey across the lake, watching for hippos in the water and birds along the shores. Your boat guide will help you spot wildlife while you enjoy the surrounding scenery.
Following your lake visit, begin the approximately two-hour return drive to Nairobi, depending on traffic. Your day ends with drop-off at your hotel or original pickup location.
