Continued to the British Victorian & Federalist architecture, National Historic Landmark. named after King George II, England 1751.

Georgetown University

John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts

The John F. Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts. This is the United States National Cultural Centre. It was named in 1964 as a living memorial to the assassinated 35th President. At this stop we will visit the hall of Nations, hall of states, walk through the grand foyer and admire the eight-foot bronze bust sculpture of JFK. A work of art of American sculpture Robert Berks. As quoted by JFK and inscribed in the walls along the river terrace, “This country cannot afford to be materially rich and spiritually poor.”

U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial

While the scene depicts one of the most famous clashes of World War II, the memorial is dedicated to all Marines who have given their lives in defence of the United States since 1775.
