Overview

  • Some days leave a mark. This half-day journey from Limassol to Paphos takes you through layers of history that shaped an entire civilisation.
It begins at Petra tou Romiou — where, according to ancient myth, Aphrodite rose from the sea. Feel the spray of the waves and decide for yourself.
As you continue through Paphos, your guide brings to life the Catacombs of Saint Solomoni and the Church of Saint Kyriaki — ancient sites of early Christian faith, each with a storey that stays with you long after you've passed.
Wander the open-air Paphos Archaeological Park — Roman mosaics, ancient statues, and 4,000 years of Cyprus beneath an open sky.
End at Paphos Castle, a medieval fortress at the water's edge — with sweeping harbour views and centuries of history in every stone.
Myth, faith, ancient civilisation, and the Mediterranean at its most dramatic. All in one half-day.

Activity itinerary

Petra tou Romiou

  • 20m
This is where it all began. According to ancient Greek myth, Aphrodite — goddess of love — rose from the sea at this very spot. Stand at the edge of Petra tou Romiou, feel the spray of the waves, and decide for yourself. Some places just feel different.

St. Solomon's Catacombs (Pass by)

Carved into the living rock, the Catacombs of St. Solomoni are unlike anything you've seen before. An underground church, hidden chapels, and walls once painted by Crusader artists in the 13th century — only fragments remain, but the atmosphere is overwhelming. This is the only underground church of its kind in the world. Outside, an ancient Wish Tree stands draped in colourful ribbons — each one a secret, a hope, a prayer. And somewhere deep inside — an invisible spring that locals have believed in for centuries.

Church of Agia Kyriaki and post St. Paul (Pass by)

This is where faith was tested. According to tradition, Saint Paul himself was tied to this pillar and whipped for daring to spread Christianity. The column still stands. Around it — ancient ruins, breathtaking mosaic floors, and a silence that feels centuries deep. A small church, but the weight of history here is anything but small.

Kato Paphos Archaeological Park

  • 1h 30m
  • Admission ticket included
Thousands of years of human history — laid out beneath an open sky. The Paphos Archaeological Park takes you from the Neolithic era through to Roman times, past stunning mosaics, ancient statues, pottery, and coins that have survived millennia. No rush — just you and 4,000 years of Cyprus at your own pace. History lovers will be in their element. Everyone else will leave surprised by how much they didn't know.

Paphos Harbour and Port

  • 1h 30m
Standing guard at the edge of Paphos harbour, this medieval fortress has watched over the city for centuries — through crusaders, Venetians, and Ottoman rulers. Today, the castle anchors one of the most atmospheric waterfronts in Cyprus. Stroll the promenade, browse local souvenirs, or settle into a harbourside taverna for fresh fish and seafood with a view. History on one side, the Mediterranean on the other.
