A flight from Kathmandu to Bhairahawa, also known as Gautam Buddha International Airport, typically offers a brief yet scenic aerial journey, spanning approximately 35–40 minutes. Operated by various domestic carriers like Buddha Air, Yeti Airlines and Shree Airlines, this route is a key link between the capital and the southern Terai region. Upon arrival, passengers disembark at Bhairahawa's modernised terminal, which serves as a gateway to nearby Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha. Flights on this route are frequent, with multiple daily departures. Punctuality and reliability are typically strong, though weather-related delays can occasionally occur, especially during monsoon season.
