Palais Royal to Opera Garnier Walking Tour

by PARISCityVISION Duration 3h Free cancellation available No booking or credit card fees
per adult Price is C$56

Uncover some of Paris’ hidden treasures on this eye-opening walking tour through seldom-traversed covered passageways. Starting from the regal splendour of the Palais Royal, make your way to the magnificent Haussman interior of one of the world’s most famous opera houses, Opera Garnier.

The breathtaking architecture of the Palais Royal is impressive in itself, but venture beyond the popular gardens to discover the controversial art installation, the Buren Columns, located in the palace’s inner courtyard.

Next, stroll through Passage Choiseul. Built in 1825 as a high-end shopping arcade and renovated to its former glory in 2012, it is the longest covered passage in Paris, at over 625 feet (190 m) in length. Wander into the nearby Galerie Vivienne, another hidden passageway – this time more sumptuous in style and where Jean Paul Gautier opened his first boutique, which still stands as the company's flagship store.

Reach the glorious façade of Opera Garnier and marvel at the grand beauty of this Hausmannian masterpiece. Enjoy a guided tour of the opera house and soak up the historic atmosphere of the home of Phantom of the Opera.

To top off your experience, gaze at unforgettable panoramic views across the whole of Paris from the rooftop terrace of the famous department store, Galeries Lafayette.

It was cancelled late in the day the day prior and I was added to a French speaking group. When I asked to be removed from the group and have my money refunded they did that, but the tone of their emails response implied THEY were offended. I was really looking forward to this. Of course there is enough to fill a surprise afternoon in Paris but this experience was really disappointing and just generally unprofessional.
