Quelccaya Ice Cap

The tour begins with early morning hotel pickup in Cusco and a scenic drive through the Andean highlands to the remote village of Phinaya. Upon arrival, enjoy a traditional Andean breakfast to help with acclimatisation. The journey then continues by vehicle to the area near the Quelccaya Glacier, the largest tropical glacier in the world. From the end of the road, take a short and easy hike of approximately 20 minutes to a panoramic viewpoint of the glacier. Along the way, admire crystal-clear lagoons, mountain streams, highland wildlife such as vicuñas, and the snow-capped peaks of the Vilcanota Mountain Range. After the visit, return to Phinaya for a typical local lunch. On the way back to Cusco, enjoy a scenic stop at the beautiful Sibinacocha Lagoon. The tour concludes with evening arrival in Cusco.
