Overview

  • Dive into the terrifying, meticulously planned grid of a city born from totalitarian ambition. Salzgitter is not just an industrial centre; it is an artificial construct that was forcibly built in 1942 to feed the Nazi war machine. On this thoughtful and gloomy tour, you will strip away the layers of architectural idealism to expose the brutal human cost beneath it. From garden city illusions to the silent geometry of mass graves – discover how urban planning was used as a weapon and how a modern city struggles with the ghosts of its dark origins.
