Overview

In the area of Pigeon Island, 1 km from the diving base, you’ll see colourful corals, Eels, small groups of different fish or colourful drawn Boxfish. Let yourself drift while iridescent Parrot Fish and Damselfish pass slowly. Filigree Lined Sweetlips Fish standing elegantly in the flow, Butterfly Fish and Banner fish dancing before the dark blue curtain of the sea. With some luck you have encounters with turtles, various species of ray or even Blacktip Reef Sharks there.

Activity itinerary

You don’t need to be a Scuba Diver to get to know the fascinating world underwater and its splendour. Equipped with mask, snorkel and fins you float on the surface and watch the vibrant coral reefs, rocks and coral fishes below. An intense experience and unforgettable moments. Nilaveli Snorkelling at the famous Pigeon Island Marine Park is the absolute highlight at your stay at the Nilaveli Beach. We provide daily snorkelling trips from our Divinguru Nilaveli diving centre to the PIGEON ISLAND within a boat ride of around 10 minutes and a duration of around 2-3 hours snorkelling from the shore around the island. Around the Pigeon Island there are a lot of hard corals and you can see a lot of different coral fish of the Indian Ocean, sometime turtles and also Black Tip Reef Sharks in the shallow water. We provide all necessary snorkelling gear (mask, snorkel, fins) on request. *THE PRICE EXCLUDE THE ENTRANCE TICKET TO PIGEON ISLAND The entrance ticket is paid in CASH on arrival to our diving centre in Euro, USD or LKR. The price for the Entrance Ticket is around 40 Euros/adult.
