Airfares offered on Friday tend to be the cheapest, according to flight demand on Travelocity.ca in 2021. Purchasing your airfares on a Thursday or Saturday can also provide better value, however our advice if you’re looking to save money is to avoid booking on a Wednesday or Sunday. Our data shows that those two days have the highest ticket values on average, so keep this in mind if you’re browsing flight deals.
Frequent travellers may already know this, earlier in the week is often the cheapest time to fly. Flights departing on a Monday are the cheapest of the week. Since flights towards the middle of the week tend to be more popular, this causes the prices to rise. This is why, on average, airfares booked on Travelocity.ca in 2021 were most expensive for Wednesday departures.
Here’s the deal: It is typically possible to start comparing international airfares on Travelocity.ca up to 12 months in advance. However, it does depend on the carrier as not all airlines release their prices that far out. According to our 2021 flight demand trends, last minute planners can still bag a bargain with some of the cheapest fares appearing 2-4 weeks prior to their travel dates.

Welcome to Yakima, Washington, an agricultural hub known for its abundant production of apples, wine, hops, and more. With a higher average number of sunny days each year than most of the rest of the state enjoys, some call Yakima the Palm Springs of Washington. It may not have quite the same vibe as the real Palm Springs, but nonetheless, it's a fantastic place to escape the regional gloom and enjoy some sunshine. Book your flights to Yakima into either Yakima Air Terminal (YKM) or Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). Seattle-Tacoma Airport offers more flights, but it's about a two-and-a-half-hour drive from here to Yakima. If you'd rather avoid the long road trip, book your Yakima flights into Yakima Air Terminal on one of the three daily flights from Seattle-Tacoma.
There are many hotels located along the Pacific Highway just outside Seattle-Tacoma Airport, if this is where you land. Catch one of the shuttles to the rental car area from either the north or south end of the terminal, right outside of baggage claim. There are also long-distance shuttles that offer round-trip service between Yakima and Seattle-Tacoma Airport. If you land at Yakima Air Terminal, you won't find much in the way of lodgings around the airport, but it's a quick 10-minute drive to an abundance of hotels in Yakima. Rent a car from one of the on-site agencies or hop onto the Route 11 bus into downtown Yakima. Once you've had a chance to freshen up at your Yakima hotel, head outside to explore the region. Depending on the time of year, apple picking is a fun local activity, and wine tasting is always in season! Check out the Yakima Valley Museum for some insight into local history.
