Old house comfort

A great location - close to grocery and downtown restaurants. The home is very spacious, though the layout is complicated, every bedroom and bathroom offered privacy. The kitchen was well-stocked and there is a cute coffee station off the kitchen. The patio off the kitchen was perfect for morning coffee, with plenty of shade. This is a level lot too, very few stairs to navigate for older guests. Beds and linens were super comfortable and the house was clean. A few drawbacks: you can only enter the home through the back door and you have to walk on a gravel path to that door. We had trouble with the AC, couldn’t get the upstairs to cool down for 24 hours (reached out to owner/manager who wanted photo of unit, but the AC unit was in the closet not the window — suggested box fans at night to bring in cool air, which were provided in the closet; central air had one floor vent to the upstairs so just took some time to cool during record high summer temps). The stairs leading to the upstairs bedroom are tiny, so you have to walk sideways on each step. Upstairs shower is also tiny and not designed for anyone near 6 foot tall. All of the bathrooms are dimly lit and could use more lighting. The house is probably more than 80 years old so expect the pretty historical architecture but with new fixtures and updates that make this house practical and comfortable for a few days’ stay.

We had a great time at this rental. The house is centally located, close to everything. Off street parking was great and the large outdoor covered deck was a bonus. The house was fully stocked, beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed. Will definitely stay here again. Thanks!
