"Not a super fancy but a very nice place to stay. It was of course spotlessly clean and efficiently organized, and the staff was very solicitous and always helpful. We liked the facilities, especially the Onsen, which had both inside and outside baths on the top floor with views over the city. The Ueno Park location was excellent, both for the neighborhood, the proximity to the park and its museums and monuments, and the easy access to transportation. We liked it enough to cancel the other hotel we had booked for our return to Tokyo at the end of our trip, and re-book here. "

"I had a medical emergency during my stay in Tokyo and the staff at Hotel Niwa were amazing in helping me get care. They were kind and checked in on how I was doing and even let us check out late when I was well enough to travel home. While my Japan visit didn’t go as planned I felt very safe and comfortable staying at this hotel and am glad we chose it. My husband said the breakfast was great and the rooms were cozy. I hope to return and stay there again."
