Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The bed was comfy, the room was clean and the location ideal.
It was, however, tired.
The TV did not have any signal (it occasionally sprang into life with a few words if left on).
The bath (supposed to be a spa bath - but the function did not work) was cracked to the point of worrying about the ceiling below.
The hot tap on the sink unit did not work, and the plug was missing, and the room was tidy and the decor needed a refresh.
If you are looking for a bed at a reasonable rate near Notting Hill gate -this could be for you, but I suspect the photos were taken when it was in a better state and on a good day.
We enjoyed our family trip to London and the Abbey was the perfect hotel for our needs. It’s right near the Notting Hill tube stop which was very convenient. We also enjoyed the local pubs, restaurants and the Portobello Market.
The hotel itself was a blend of old & new. Our family room was larger than anticipated and very comfortable. The best part of our hotel experience was the hospitality of Sarah at the front desk. She warmly welcomed us and provided superior service with spot on recommendations. Thank you!
The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. However, the room did not match the photos on the website. Our room was small and quite dated, with furnishings that appeared to be from a second-hand store, though the bed was comfortable. The bathroom had missing tiles and outdated fixtures, though the shower itself was good. On the positive side, the hotel was in a great location, close to the underground, shops, and restaurants."

Female staff member was awesome, so helpful and kind, but the room wasn’t the best. Shower was terrible and bathroom old and mouldy. Fold out bed for my teenage son the springs protruded through, it’s very bsrrow

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The fold out bed was poor as the springs dug into your back. The bathroom was mouldy . I feel that the rooms need some renovations and some thought to go into the bedding situation as not comfortable at all.
The area was noisy for the 3 nights we were there as the young people living next door down below were on drugs and screaming all night.
Make sure to avoid lower rooms.
The only good thing really was the lovely lady who checked us in , she works very hard and was there our entire stay - kind, helpful and made our stay all the better for considering how unhappy we were with the accommodation. We didn’t bother complaining because there wouldn’t have been anything she could do as fully booked.

Liked: Cleanliness
Disliked: Amenities
One big drawback was that there was no lift (elevator) and we were on the top floor. The reception person helped carry our suitcase all the way up though. Bed was comfortable but there was no mirror in the room near an outlet so hair dryer was good to have but couldn’t see the process.

Bedroom was nice, but bathroom area desperately in need of decorating/refurbishment.
Were attendingconcert at Royal Albert Hall and location worked for us (about 30 minute pleasant walk).
Sarah, receptionist, was most helpful . Handled my luggage to third floor room, , allowed for esrly check in, and suggested restaurants and transportation options.
Clean room, great location, quiet, plenty of space, only complaint is the water knobs in the sink and shower were tough. Basically had to unscrew a couple full revolutions to get any water at all and then it came out like a fire hose. Similar issue in shower dialing in the temperature, it was quite difficult. I get the desire to keep old original hardware but not when it comes at a significant functional loss.
