Charming/Private Home on Deodar Pine-lined St.
This charming guesthouse in the scenic and peaceful Northwest neighborhood of Pasadena on just minutes from X-Mas Tree Lane with clear views of the San Gabriel Mountains and proximity to hiking trails, such as Eaton Canyon and Mt. Wilson. Ten minutes from the world-famous Rose Bowl, Huntington Library and Old Town. If you are looking for a different vibe, Pasadena is only 20 minutes from Downtown LA and 30-40 min. to beautiful So. CA beaches. WI-FI and SmartTV.
This property was spacious and comfortable. The photos are very accurate. The location was perfect while I spent the week working in La Canada Flintridge.
So very clean, easy check in, host was super friendly and responsive - everything I needed for basic kitchen functions, plenty of towels and some really nice blankets - It was a very comfortable and restorative stay! Walkable to a great breakfast spot, I'm already bookmarking it to stay here again! Lupe (and everyone else I bumped into during my stay) was super nice!
It was our third time staying in this sweet cottage--need I say more? I'll just note that the couch and coffee table have been replaced from those shown in the photos as of this date (10/25). The couch is definitely more cozy than the one prior reviewers described as uncomfortable. I'll check availability again for our next SoCal trip.
The house had everything we needed and more! Very clean, cozy and felt like home! The office space was a perfect set up for me to catch up on work while still being able to hang out with my son in the living room. Lupe responded quickly and her check in/out directions were easily to follow and clear. Thank you!!
I stayed with my girlfriend for 3 nights. The checking process was pretty good and excellent communication with the host Lupe and very flexible and she let us stay for couple more hours in the check out process.
A comfortable, clean and charming place to stay. Host is great, neighborhood is nice. Kitchen appliances, AC, bathroom stuff \, etc. worked which not always the case with VRBOs. Only hassle is street parking, you need a permit from the city.
Lovely guest house, responsive owner, quit neighborhood. Notjing to do with the property or the owner, but rather that one cannot park on the street overnight. Necessary to buy a license of some kind from the city of Pasadena and park around the corner. Just not too convenient but again, that's the city not the homeowner.
Cute house. Very comfortable bed and bedding. Kitchen was fine for basic cooking. Not a lot of cooking extras. Very nice neighborhood. Very quiet. Problems with WiFi connection that was resolved the last day of our stay.
The place was nice, quaint, and clean. The only critique I have was the check in process didnât specify that the guest house was behind the fence, so I initially got lost. That being said, the host and friends were amazing and helped us out!
To get to the apt. you walk down the driveway past the gardening pickup truck and pile of gardening tools, through two wooden fences to get to the front door (inside the second wooden fence, just a cement pathway along a wood fence to the two doors to the apt.). The landscaped outdoor pathway in the photos is in the ownerâs front yard, cute, but not your path. The apt. is in the ownerâs back property and shares a wall with the garage. The apt. felt very budget overall, for instance, the kitchen window looks into a small laundry room instead of to a yard, and there is no dishwasher. The tv is a smart tv, but most of the apps are subscription only so unless you were willing to use your own account to log in, you were very limited. The owners were very friendly and responsive, but overall I expected âCharming/Private Homeâ and was disappointed.
The guest house was in a great location. It was on a quiet street with gorgeous Mountain Viewâs. The accommodations were great and the owner was very responsive.
I had a work conference in Pasadena and I wanted something substantially more personal than a hotel. Lupeâs place was just the thing. It was quiet, gorgeously decorated, and full of the home amenities I was craving. The neighborhood was so beautiful, and there was an excellent breakfast spot a few minutes walk away. I used Metro to get back downtown, and it was a simple 15 minute bus ride. Iâd absolutely stay here again.
Lovely little house with access to a garden in the back. We would stay there again! Very comfortable bed, good work space, great TV screen. There were few cooking condiments which we needed like oil or vinegar. And there was no human contact with the hosts, with no instructions about garbage disposal, or how the TV worked. But the host was kind when we emailed for information. Still....
Rented this space for a weekend visit to the Los Angeles area.
We were incredibly satisfied with the space. It was well appointed, super cute and just what we needed. The neighborhood was adorable and fun to walk around
We definitely recommend this rental
The property was very clean and all the basics, plus some, provided. The area is quiet and safe. Your own transport would be advantages. One very minor criticism would be the couch was a little uncomfortably firm and not great for watching tv.
It was great to return for a second 3-night stay at Lupe's backyard cottage, already knowing that the place would meet all our needs--space, privacy, quiet. The weather was unusually hot during our stay (105, 107), and happily the two AC wall units kept the place quite comfortable. Looking forward to round three on a future trip to Pasadena.
Our stay was great. The location was perfect for moving our daughter to school. Lupe was prompt with communication. Our only complaint would be the pillows were to flat, so we went and got our own after a couple days for better sleep, understandably, everyone has their own preferences when it comes to that.
The couch is hard and not really comfortable. Everything else about the home is charming and lovely. We had a wonderful stay. Thanks Lupe!
We enjoyed staying at this spacious cottage. Altadena is dreamy and we had plenty of room and privacy tucked in the trees.
The cottage has a full size kitchen and large bedroom great decor and plenty of work space for a working vacation. The location is perfect for visiting LA, everything is a quick drive. We especially loved Millie's which has a large vegan menu and Octavia's Bookshelf bookstore. Pintoresca park is beautiful and close with a skatepark and splash pad. The host is great and easy to communicate with.
