Welcome to The Aqua Villas at Mangrove Marina Resorts “Captain’s Quarters” houseboat, located between Key Largo and Islamorada in Tavernier at Mile Marker 91.7 on the Bayside, in a protected tranquil oasis cove of Community Harbor, in the beautiful Florida Keys.
The space
The Captain’s Quarters houseboat has 2 Queen beds. Each house boat has flat-screen TVs with cable and complimentary WiFi. The kitchen features a refrigerator, stove-top, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and well-equipped kitchens. The sliding glass doors leads to a patio overlooking wonderful water views.

The Captain's Quarters is a charming split-level houseboat in a sheltered mangrove bay that can rock you to sleep with the gurgling of waves against the hull. We arrived late, and were met with everything we needed to get into the boat and understand the expectations. Key to the door was a little challenging in the dark with the high winds that night, but that's a skill issue on our end, and the only hiccup we had. Mornings in Tavernier were a short walk to a choice of cafes, and the houseboat was a nice home base for our morning and evening day trips. Be aware that the marina is a working facility, and you should be aware of the work and the workers, who are all patient and careful. Late afternoon soaks in the pool, and evening beers at the attached bar were nice additions, with a great slice of laid-back island time. The head aboard is small (it's a boat, after all), but if the weather's good, you can use the outdoor showers - that you should wash off in before using the pool, anyway! Great stay in a unique property for our family of four - short stay but unique stories!

Fantastic little spot

Loved our stay here and everything worked very well! Mike was friendly, as was the entire community of residents and employees there. We laughed with other guests as well, and sunsets were unparalleled. We rented kayaks for two days and had a BLAST and saw lots of wildlife. We did notice some drain flies that were in the basement right side room, that usually gather when there is mildew and mold - might be something to look into, although it’s a house on the ocean and that is likely an uphill battle
 we loved our stay and would definitely stay here again!

Life on the Boat

We had to arrive after hours due to our flight & the staff had our late check-in envelope in the box. Our houseboat was clean, and we enjoyed sleeping with the ocean gently rocking us to sleep. There were coffee packets with the coffee maker to get us started in the mornings. Although we ate out most meals, there was a well equipped kitchen, and enough towels. The staff helped us print out some paperwork we needed, and checking out was easy. Not a fancy place, but gorgeous views, and located close to everything you will want to see in the Keys!!!

Beautiful stay

We loved this house boat. Very charming. The view off the deck was beautiful. Everything was in order and clean/new. The staff was helpful. This was a perfect long weekend getaway for fishing, dining and relaxation.

Thanksgiving respite

We travelled south to visit our daughter and friend over Thanksgiving. We had a week to enjoy our Captains Quarters .Check in was easy, friendly and Mike was very helpful. Everyone was friendly and easy going.
