I can't say enough about this hidden gem. Awe inspiring views, cozy, and lots to see and do nearby. Hosts were quickly responsive when we had questions. Perfect romantic getaway. Loved every minute!
The view is what you pay for and thatâs it. And it is an amazing view. But one I wonât see from this cottage ever again. It would be nice if the owners used the rental money they make to update all of the furniture, the couch and chair are both tiny and unbelievably uncomfortable, beds were AWEFUL. Iâve slept in more comfortable beds in cheap hotels. My husband couldnât even sleep in the beds so he tried the pull out twin bed from the couch. It also was extremely uncomfortable AND broken. We rented in October. Our first day on arrival was cold and rainy. They had a tiny room heater plugged in when we got there. That did pretty much nothing! A woodstove that we could have used to warm up the cottage but no supplies to do so. We purchased that stuff at the closest Walmart the next day so we could at least be warm at this crappy uncomfortable cottage. The bathroom shower stall is horrid. Tiny, old, stained and when you showered you stood in 3-4 inches of water by the time you're done. After complaining we were offered a refund on a portion of the cost. I would never recommend this rental to a single person. We should have gotten a full refund.
The place was a perfect little haven. Right on the rocks surrounded by beautiful views on 2 sides. My favorite spot was out on the deck watching the distant lobster boats check their traps.
The view was amazing, disappointed in the bathroom (rust stains, dirty) and cleanliness of the place
The view is amazing - you see the ocean from the porch / living room / kitchen, never seen a location like it. The VERY unfortunate part is the general cleanliness of the place, it is very old and dusty and needs a very good thorough cleaning. It has a very old carpet and the bathroom is full of rust stains in the shower, sink and toilet. There were ants on the kitchen counter. We wore hotel slippers the whole time, flip flops in the shower, and covered the (derelict) couches with towels and sheets as we were not comfortable in touching them. Thank goodness we brought Clorox with us. If you like clean places - like in a hotel - then this place is not for you. We loved the view, hearing the waves crash on the ocean, but would not come back a second time due to the cleanliness of the home.
This is a splendid cottage. For those looking for comfort, privacy, beautiful vistas, and quiet days and nights, please consider Little Harbor. We found all of that here. As we live in the chaos of suburbia, the calm pace of Bailey Island suited us. Thank you Penny and Eric for your grace and hospitality.
