"Our family of 5 absolutely loved our trip to the trails at files creek and stayed very comfortably in the willow field cabin. The only complaint we had was that we had to leave! We visited from the DC region and stopped a night at Blackwater falls on the way to the cabin, which was only about a hours drive. During our stay we also visited the train in Elkins which was only about a half hour away. The property is gorgeous and the cabin exceeded our expectations in every way. This trip was exactly what our family needed to rest and recharge and get away. We had a beautiful time in the peaceful oasis and loved how close to nature and each other we were able to feel during our stay. The host Max was excellent and when the power went out breifly due to storms he came to check on us and brought us ice for our food and made us so comfortable. The switchback trail up to the top was challenging for our youngest and so rewarding! The Gallery with cold drinks and beautiful art at the top was such a nice touch and good resting point to continue up to the best view of the week! There was even a WV style outhouse at the top so we lacked for nothing and enjoyed the view from the swing. Our son caught a small fish in the pond near the cabin and our daughters loved the simple and well cared for play equipment. We used the kitchen, the grill and the fire pit and loved every minute of our stay. If you’re still reading this and wondering if you should book it, stop wondering and just do it!"
