Waterfront home in Tide Mill Cove
A delightful vintage Maine cottage on quiet Tide Mill Cove. Deck overlooks the bay with room for sunbathing, birdwatching, crafts, grilling and relaxing. Deck is 10 feet from the high tide - as close as you can get to the water! Has three carpeted bedrooms (2 full beds, one twin), large living area, kitchen and dining space. Fully equipped kitchen, with gas stove/microwave perfect for lobster and steamer dinners finished with toasted marshmallows in the fire pit. Surrounded by many Harpswell hiking trails and easy access to kayaking the many islands of Casco Bay.
The cottage has updated bathroom with shower. The cove water is warmed by bay, with slate beach front for adventurous swimmers. Brunswick, with its many restaurants and entertainment is only 20 minutes away.
There is Internet available, TV, CD and DVD. 2 kayaks and a canoe all available to launch on the property. In the early morning, listen for the loons and eiders, and watch for bald eagles, kingfisher and osprey. Perfect place to unwind while watching the 10 ft tide come and go! A delightful vacation for family as well as romance!
We enjoyed the stay. Cottage is on a quiet cove. Wonderful view. Close to everything. Would recommend to anyone wanting a quiet cottage for a few days.
The camp was rustic, which we expected and liked. The deck, waterfront and trees were the highlight. It felt like a lovely true Maine spot. The canoe and knacks on site, also were a perk.
The bathroom was modern, and clean, so that was a nice convenience. There were nice decorative touches throughout., but it should have had a deeper cleaning under furniture and around windows.
The master bedroom overlooking the water was perfect for sleeping and waking up to the coast atmosphere. The beds were adequate.
Water could be improved, and having to tote drinking and dish water was the hard part. Owner stated a week before our stay that the water was hard, but it was brackish, and not just hard. We did bathe with it.
We would stay again for sure if the water situation was cleared up.
If your looking for modern this isnât for you. It was very rustic. It was one step up from a cabin in the woods. The bathroom was really the only modern room. Looks like it was remolded not long ago. But for the price I canât complain. The whole family had fun. You are very close to the water. We had lots of fun with the Kayaks that were there. Lots of shade from the trees. Deck of looks basin cove. Cool waking up to see boats out on the water. I would rent it again.
We loved this cottage! When we left Maine 30 years ago we didn't realize how much we would miss it. Our stay here let us retrace our steps down back roads and out of the way coves. As our home base, everything we needed was provisioned here, and we enjoyed thumbing through the bookshelf and games in the cabinet. We were able to easily go kayaking and canoeing in the cove right off the deck. And watched the 8' foot tide come in and out and in and out. We had an impromptu bbq with extended family and easily whipped up dishes and grilled with the appointments. Trips to Orr's and Baily islands were easy and several lobster shacks to pick from close se by If you want vintage rustic Maine as it was (and still is) you can't beat this place.
