BEAUTIFUL CAMP GROUND WE RENTED A CABIN WENT TO TAKE A SHOWER AND NO TOWELS SO WE HAVE TO CALL UP FOR SOME ....THEN WENT TO USE MICROWAVE AND THERE WERE MOLDEY EGGS AND BREAD IN THERE STUCK ON THE GLASS WITH GREEN MOLD...CLEANING SHOULD BE MUCH BETTER IN THIS DAY AND AGE
Clean and new smelling cabin. Only issue was the plastic lining on the bed made it difficult to get a full nights sleep. Loud and uncomfortable. Otherwise, the facility is well cared for and has a beautiful view from every direction within the RV resort.
The property was what I expected. However, there was a communication problem between Expedia and Alpine Lake and the cabin I reserved (according to paperwork) was not where I was placed. It all worked out, but was less than what I expected. When you are told you will have a twin bunk bed and get a loft instead it is disappointing. Fortunately I had called before with a question and found this out so I could go prepared. The paperwork from Expedia lists it as "special requests" which it wasn't I placed the booking based on what I read and needed. Very disappointed with Expedia, not with the resort.
Three of us girls came in to the area for a couple of shows at SPAC. We rented a cabin. We loved the area and the resort was great. I loved waking up with my coffee and sitting on the screened in porch and listening to the world wake up. Very relaxing. The place was very busy with kids on kayaks and bikes by 8 AM. It was great to see! The one issue we had was that the shower drain was backed up. We forgot to mention it to the great staff at the front desk. I'm sure all it would need was some drano and a plunger. Other than that, it was an awesome place. I'd definitely go back. Oh...we loved the store in the office too! Inexpensive tees, sweatshirts and souvenir type stuff:).
Overall, great experience - relaxing and enjoyable weekend away. I definitely recommend calling the campground directly if booking a cottage online (through Expedia, Hotels.com, Travelocity, Orbitz, etc.) to confirm that the reservation is correct though. My reservation stated that I had reserved a cottage at the advertised price, but when I called the campground, they advised that the reservation was for a cabin at that price. The cottages are larger than the cabins, and I needed a cottage for this particular weekend. The matter was resolved, but I definitely recommend calling ahead to confirm & correct the reservation (if needed) rather than having to deal with it upon arrival. Hopefully this issue will be corrected soon as Alpine Lake is a fun place to visit and I definitely plan to go back there again in the future!
