Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial is a museum/ National park commemorating The U.S. 16th President, Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln City, originally named, Little Pigeon Creek was home to Abe Lincoln and his family during the most formative years of his life--ages 7-21. At this national park, you can explore the parks 'Living History Farm.' There are many faithful volunteers and staff who dress and reenact the Pioneer life. At the Living History Farm, you will see horses, sheep, chickens, cows, etc. they grow fresh vegetables that were popular in the pioneer days and donate them to local organizations and after school programs in the area! If you enjoy American history, you will not be disappointed by visiting this great park! The city is filled with history to tell!

In August 2014, my AmeriCorps NCCC team served with the Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial for 3 weeks. While we were there, we did invasive plant species removal and re-located and built a pioneer-like split rail fence around the farm so the animals will have a more larger space to roam around and grass to eat! Feel free to volunteer and catch up on some history!
