This was a little slice of paradise tucked away in Jamaica. Be AWARE It takes about a two hour drive to get there from the airport, with a price tag of $100, but once on the property you can see why they have good reviews. If you are looking for peace and quiet this is the place. Purchase food before getting to the location from the Mega store, if not you are left with limited choices from surrounding marts. Once at the location the property manager will charge you $60 to take you to the neighborhood Mart 20 mins away! Upon arrival expect to cook your own meals on the grill because there is no stove in the cabin (grilling was a plus for me and my spouse). There is a small microwave but it has barely enough watts to heat water. I think we would have had an awesome time if the kayak's were not busted or we had access to snorkeling gear. All in all I don't count this trip as a loss. Mike is great, Young Jay, Steve and Shay wonderful and very accommodating. We also experienced issues with hot water but Mike corrected the problem immediately.
I returned from Little Bay Cabins on Friday 5th Feb 16. This was my first solo holiday and I was nervous being the wrong side of 50, travelling alone and had never been to Jamaica before.
Having had quite a stressful year I had decided to go away for some R&R for 10 days. It was the best decision I had ever made. Little Bay Cabins is definitely the place to go if you want/need some peace, quiet and time to reflect, the staff were fantastic, Thank you very much, Kesha/Mike/Oshane/Jay/Robert/Crissy and Christobel(?) apologies if I have your name wrong! Magnus, it was a pleasure to meet you.x
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, attentive but not pushy, I definitely fell in love with Negril and will be returning next year.
An $80 taxi ride is not in the vicinity of Negril.
Once there you are hostage and its s very expensive to eat or drink. Town had abfewvlittle places to drink but only one place to eat. The ad looks like there are kitchens in the rooms but we didn't have one nor did our neighbors.
Housekeeping was non existent and we had no bulb in bathroom light for most of our stay and a room for two had one pillow. Beds were uncomfortable and sheets pulled of them because they wee plastic
Kitchen and bar staff were pleasant but it was very expensive so we went to Negril and other places often; it was cheaper to pay for cab/activities and eat elsewhere for the day. The housekeeper and office staff seems angry that we would leave instead of being hostage there. This was the worse part of the stay.
The business could be nice but it's greedy to price food and drink so high and it is counterproductive as it hurts their business
When we arrived in August myself and my girlfriend were the only two people there. We felt like we had an entire island to ourselves. The spot is idyllic and serene, crystal blue water with starfish right by the coast. There are hammocks for lounging and nice beach chairs set up. Our favorite part was the free kayaking though, we had so much fun taking the kayaks out and snorkeling. The staff was excellent, Young Jay made us feel at home and was extremely helpful without being overbearing. Some of the best herb on the island can be found here in plenty if that's your thing.
Definitely bring water shoes if you are planning on snorkeling, there are lots of urchins out on the reef. Also, make sure that you bring a LARGE mosquito net with you for sleeping at night. The bugs will make your life miserable.I would recommend the staff consider ceiling hooks for the nets in their cabins.
