Cleveland House
"Here is what you should know when booking a room here: 1. There are four hotels in this group and you could be put in any of them. 2. They are historic homes built in the late 1700s, I think, and therefore have old-home character and individuality—and sometimes a little peeling paint. 3. Rick, the guy who runs everything, works extremely hard to make sure you feel happy. 4. Regular queen rooms are in the basement. Deluxe queens are upstairs. My daughter and I had a deluxe king. It was nice. We had a cute street view. 5. There is parking, but it’s tight. 6. Clean room & linens. Private bathrooms. Really clean. 7. The floors were old fashioned hardwood floors, but whatever they did to them, they didn’t squeak, creak, or make noise.8. Firm mattress, nice pillows.9. Window units for A/C. The hallways were warm. You can adjust your room’s temp yourself. 10. Walkable to Bowen’s Wharf, Starbucks, etc. 11. That said, it’s a little quirky. Have that expectation and you will enjoy it. We will go back."
