The room was large, beautiful, and full of light from the four large windows; the room and attached bathroom were both spotless. The owner and staff were all super friendly. I took part in an excellent yoga class in the studio on the second floor, which was also beautiful and light-filled from large windows. Graham’s coffee shop on the ground floor served an excellent cappuccino in a real cup and had lots of tasty-looking pastry options, including some vegan and gluten free. It was my birthday and the owner gave me much-appreciated perks to make my stay even more special. I definite recommend this gorgeous, historic hotel, which is located in the very walkable Stockade neighborhood and close to restaurants, a movie theater, Proctor’s theater, and the Mohawk River for nice walks.

The "innkeeper" John could not have been more accommodating or helpful during my brief stay. The hotel itself is beautiful and historic. It's still a bit of a work in progress, but I enjoyed my stay so much I would go back to Schenectady just to stay there again. I can't wait until the restaurant downstairs opens- it is such a cozy and welcoming place. The coffee shop in the lobby is bright and warm (and the coffee and cheese scones are excellent!) This is the opposite of staying in a chain hotel. All calm and charm. Thanks for a lovely stay, John.

This is a great spot - we'll definitely return. Convenient to downtown (we walked to a show at Proctors) - nice rooms, easy off-street parking in a cool neighborhood. The inn-keeper worked hard to make sure everything was just right - and even called to get our mailing address when we left a few items behind. First rate service.

Parking was easy. Staff was responsive. Rooms desperately need to be updated and cleaned a bit better. We were on the third floor. Windows didn’t open and there was no A/C or television. The coffee shop downstairs was excellent.

We had a great stay at the Stockade Inn. It was a nice experience to stay away from the cookie cutter hotels and enjoy a more quaint experience. The sitting areas around the inn are wonderfull for a morning coffee or evening cocktail. If history and warmth are what you're looking for , look no farther!
