GREAT LOCATION but really awful hotel. Staff was not welcoming at check in, no information in rooms about dining options or information about hotel including coffee, etc. Lobby extremely small. 1 elevator, corridor area from elevator to hall extremely tight. Often times there was a line at the elevator. The KEY was this awful large piece that made it difficult to carry if you had a smaller purse. No ice machine? God awful bathrooms, outdated, extremely small, even for NYC standards. I booked this hotel after cancelling another reservation in a more well known chain but I wanted to check out after our first night. Location was perfect for the west village/NYU area but i wouldn't recommend anyone I know to stay here.

I enjoyed 3 nights at the Marlton during a real cold spell in NYC. Pros * Staff was friendly and helpful. * Breakfast was healthy and tasty. * Comfortable bed Cons * Too many non hotel guests on laptop computers in the lobby (guests should be encouraged to sit the restaurant booths if the lobby is full (there is zero space in the bedroom for anything more than sleeping. * Long waits for elevator to 8th floor (next time I’ll request a room no higher than the 5th floor;-)
