Hillsview Residence | 5 min to chimpanzee trekking, 1 hour to Murchison Falls

Hillsview Residence — a private two-storey guest house overlooking the hills outside Masindi, five minutes from chimpanzee trekking and under an hour from Murchison Falls.

The house is separate from the family home, so you have the whole place to yourselves. Four ensuite bedrooms, two living rooms — one on each floor — a fully equipped kitchen and a bright dining area. Outside there's a private backyard and patio for a BBQ or a slow evening. Mornings are the best of it: low light across the compound, birdsong, and the road to the park still empty.

SLEEPING
Three bedrooms with queen beds, plus a family room with a queen and a double sofa bed — comfortable for three adults, or two adults and two children. Ten guests in total. The nightly rate covers four guests and there is no cleaning fee; each additional guest is charged extra per night, shown in your quote before you book.

SECURITY
The compound is fully fenced, with 24/7 security, surveillance cameras and parking inside the gate. There's a standby generator for power cuts, and WiFi throughout. We pass your name and group size to the security team before you arrive, so you're expected at the gate rather than turning up as a stranger.

HOSTING
Hillsview is a family home and still run by family. They live on the property and will welcome you whatever time you arrive. Ask them where to eat, which route to take to the park gate, or where to find a mechanic if the vehicle plays up — they know this area far better than a guidebook, and they enjoy that part. GETTING AROUND
We're in Bikonzi, 14 km from Masindi town on the Hoima road and 800 m off the main road. The Murchison Falls gate is 45–60 minutes, so you can leave after breakfast and still make the morning game drive. Chimpanzee trekking is five minutes away — genuinely the closest thing to the house. Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is about an hour, and works well as a stop on the way in from Kampala. Karibuni Supermarket in Masindi is where we send guests to stock up if you're cooking. Masindi sits in the Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom, one of Uganda's oldest, worth an afternoon if you're not rushing to the park.
