Good place and good location with a friendly staff and one bar available on the balcony. Clean and tidy. Unfortunate my room was close to the bar and it's so loud the week end till 2 a.m that it's not possibe to sleep.

The beds were a nightmare, very old and so dirty. The only positive thing was the position, a very central position!

I thought I would spend my last night here as a change from the YHA - big mistake,. The good - Conveniently right in the middle of town The bad - no bathroom on top floor, very dirty small kitchen, dirty cramped room with old tattered stained dirty carpet with dust everywhere, stained crumpled brown sheets. and stained mattress protector No security at all - the back fire door right near the first floor bathroom was propped open posing a security risk as anyone could come in. I did not feel safe at all in the shower - anyone could walk in and able to look into the shower above the partial door. The poor reception person is made to take clients dirty linen with his bare hands. Why not have an infection conscious way of receiving dirty linen. Staff not particularly friendly. Topped by a very noisy inconsiderate rowdy crowd screaming and laughing in the lounge at 2:45am. on this particular night. The YHA is the opposite in all these aspects.

The Worst place to stay EVER!
The huge down fall of this hostel is that it has a BAR on the same floor as the hostel. There is no door to seperate them. The BAR was open until 2am both Friday & Saturday nights. There were drunken screaming girls and loud obnoxious people coming and going all night long. Patrons from the bar use the same bathroom facility as you do. This added a bonus of being able to listen to youngsters from the bar vomitting in the toilets while you had your nightly shower. There was NO security and no-one on the front desk from 10pm each night. The front security door was wedged open all night to allow bar patrons access to the venue. The No Refund policy ensures that if you leave early (because it's so disgusting here) you will not get ANY money back. We had food stolen from the fridge, cigerette smoke from the BAR balcony wafting into our room, long term hostel people staying up partying until 5:30am (only going to bed when we told them we'd call the police). All in all it was THE WORST place I have ever stayed.

Central to Everything
Certainly not the best Hostel I've stayed in but is central to Adelaide CBD, transports and all the sights. While some of the facilities are below par the balcony bar improves the overall feel and rating of the hostel. Very cheap and affordable place to stay and I guess you get what you pay but would easily stay here again.
