"Le Vieil Aiglun" is an old village in Haute Provence whose origins date back to the 16th century. Perched at an altitude of 775 m, the site holds a remarkable position and benefits from exceptional panoramic views of Provence, the Pre-Alps and the Verdon. The old village of Aiglun was abandoned at the start of the 20th century. The only buildings still inhabited have been converted into three very comfortable gîtes. One of these three gîtes is called the "Gîte du Midi". Beautiful large stone countryhouse, this cottage offers a capacity of 2 to 8 people on 135 m2.
The "Gîte du Midi" can be rented in its entirety (8 people) or partially (ground floor only - 2 people).
- When rented in its entirety, the "Gîte du Midi" (135 m2 + 48 m2 for the vaulted dining room) offers 4 bedrooms (three double bedrooms and one quadruple bedroom) with private bathrooms each, a TV lounge with open fire, a large dining room with American kitchen, all opening onto a patio with a small fountain. A large vaulted dining room (located under the "Gîte du Midi") with adjoining kitchen can also be made available to tenants. The "Gîte du Midi" is very suitable for hosting small groups or large families, everyone will find enough space to enjoy great privacy.
- When the "Gîte du Midi" is rented to two people, only the ground floor is made available. You will then enjoy a double bedroom with private bathroom, a TV lounge with fireplace and a large dining room with open kitchen, all opening onto a patio with a small fountain. Attention: in this formula, the floor of the "Gîte du Midi" remains unoccupied, so that no one other than you occupies the building.

VAULTED ROOM of 48m2:
The "Gîte du Midi" can be rented with an additional dining room (in addition to the dining room present in the gîte): it is a beautiful vaulted room of 48 m2 with a large table that can accommodate 16 guests and a fireplace. This room is located just below the "Gîte du Midi" and has an independent entrance. It is ideal for hosting small groups, for meals or for any organized activity (painting, music, cooking, etc.). An adjoining kitchen can also be made available.

"Le Vieil Aiglun" is located between the Alps and Provence, in an isolated and very quiet environment, but not far from a small town (Digne-les-Bains) offering all the amenities (restaurants and shops).

In summer (half May till end September), a large secure swimming pool (13x6 m) is available to our guests. We also offer a large shared garden with stunning views of the surrounding countryside and mountains, as well as the ancient Romanesque church which overlooks the hamlet (illuminated at night). Many tables, chairs, deckchairs and hammocks are available to our guests, perfect for reading a book or admiring the panoramic views.

PRICES: the prices displayed on this ad correspond to a maximum occupancy capacity (8 people). We provide a discount for small groups:
- discount of €480.-/week (or €80.-/night) for occupancy of the gîte by 5 or 6 people (3 bedrooms);
- discount of €720.-/week (or €120.-/night) for occupancy of the gîte by 3 or 4 people (2 bedrooms);
- discount of €960.-/week (or €160.-/night) for occupancy of the gîte by 1 or 2 people (1 bedroom).
