This gorgeous holiday home for 6 people is nestled at the foot of the Sierra de Lijar mountains in Algodonales (Provincia de Cadiz). Inside, the house has three bedrooms (each for 2 people), lounge, kitchen diner and bathroom. Outside, there is two terraces (one covered, one open), pool, private bar and large gardens. The location offers the perfect balance of tranquil countryside within easy walking distance of village amenities.

Within the house, you immediately notice the high ceilings and light, airy feel. The three bedrooms (two doubles and one twin) are adjacent to the main bathroom. Within the main living spaces, the kitchen is fully equipped and modern, with a bright living/dining space including area to relax. The separate lounge has large doors opening onto the covered terrace, from which you can access the private pool and bar areas. The house has air conditioning.

Outside, the upper terrace enjoys stunning 360 degree panoramas of the surrounding mountains. Below the terrace is a large private pool, adjacent to the bar and play space. At night, the designer lighting makes the bar a truly special place to enjoy a BBQ or just spend a relaxing evening. Within the gardens are a variety of fruit trees.

Located in the lower part of the village, it takes 10 minutes to walk to the square where you can enjoy a range of bars and restaurants. The area is well known for active sports (including hiking, climbing and cycling), while more relaxing local pursuits include exploring the “Pueblo Blancos” (white towns), wine and sherry tasting or simply enjoying the Andalusian natural environment.

Great holiday
We had a warm welcome from the property manager who showed us round the villa, there was a great touch of lovely welcome supplies too! The villa has lots of plus points, the outside area and pool is huge with orange and lemon trees and stunning views to the surrounding countryside. The bar area is fun and there’s lots of choices of where to lounge about outside, also the bbq is fab. Inside the property is light & airy; the big fridge freezer was brilliant, comfy beds and the air-con very welcome, the sofa in the lounge was very comfortable too. We had not visited Andalusia before and we absolutely loved it and we will definitely return to this part of Spain. We visited many of the places suggested by the owners in the very comprehensive guide provided. There was some issues with the villa, to be aware of however it didn’t counteract the good things for us: It is down a very narrow, basic lane which I’m glad we didn’t have to navigate in the dark for the first time! The proximity of the road to the rear of the villa does cause traffic noise night and day, also there was a Feria happening nearby on our first 3 nights so I’m glad we packed earplugs! The hot water was hit and miss and we didn’t always get a warm shower. Also we found the kitchen wasn’t cleaned properly inside the drawers and cupboards and oven particularly. Overall this is a great property in a stunning location and at a reasonable cost for the space.

We had a fantastic time! The villa was everything we hoped it would be. The pool and outside area were brilliant with great views of the mountains. We saw paragliders and vultures! The air conditioning worked well and the ice cube dispenser in the kitchen came in very useful. We had to call the house manager a couple of times and they were very responsive with things sorted quickly. Algodonales was an excellent base for seeing the white towns and Seville. We followed all the day trip recommendations made by the owners. A very short walk to restaurants and shops in town which were good standard and great value.
