Cottage with swimming pool and spectacular sea views on Capri Island
La Pergola nestles amid luxurious vegetation just off the road which winds its way from Anacapri to the Blue Grotto. The shops, bars and restaurants are all within walking distance or a short bus ride away. The bus stop is practically outside the main gate. Nearby are the famous ruins of the Roman villa of Damecuta, loved and frequented by the emperor Tiberius. In front of the cottage there is a large shady terrace with spectacular sea views with table and chairs for outside dining and loungers for reading or relaxing while watching the sun sink into the emerald sea. This is a detached, one-roomed cottage, tastefully decorated and enjoys stunning sea views from every window(you can see the sea while sitting in bed). There is a double bed, table and chairs for inside eating or reading, a fully equipped kitchen corner, satellite TV, DVD player-radio, WI-FI internet and bathroom with shower. The cottage is totally independent and private and has its own private entrance from the road. The swimming pool is situated in another part of the extensive grounds and is reached by steps and paths through the lush garden. Sometimes it is shared by guests(max 2) staying in another cottage set in a secluded part of the grounds. The swimming pool is open from 1st June-10-October. You are welcome to pick the vegetables, fruit or herbs that are grown on the property.
Incredible property with breathless views!Luciana was lovely and helpful. She greeted us and had so many great suggestions for our trip.Pool was clean, quite cold but an absolute gem. So private and quaint.Thereâs a bit of a trek to get to and from the pool but nothing crazy. We made espresso daily in the percolator and container of fine ground provided.A few suggestions for the owners and anyone staying here.Bring bug spray, we got eaten alive on the patio. The wifi only works well on the patio so streaming a movie or show is a challenge in bed if thatâs your thing. The bed is quite firm and you can feel your partners every movement.Another bed blanket with a bit more substance would be nice too.Air conditioner worked great! We took the bus into Ananapri and Capri and it was all very easy. Just know if thereâs no seats itâs a bit of a hold on for dear life situation but itâs entertaining. Four nights was perfect here for us yo relax before a busy work trip in other parts of Italy
If youâre looking for a quieter stay, this is definitely the spot for you. The views were lovely (the whole property is gorgeous) and having a pool on site was wonderful. The accommodation itself is very small, so keep that in mind if you have luggage or two adults. It would be nice if the place had some items that would help with this, for instance hooks for bath or pool towels in the bathroom or a foldable luggage rack. We thought it odd the kitchenette area provided wine glasses and other dishes and pots, but no wine bottle opener. There were smaller things around the accommodation that needed fixing (the handle on the rubbish door), cleaned (cobwebs and spiders in the corners), or could be replaced (the patio chair pads were covered in tree sap and stains), and while not dealbreakers, maintenance and care goes a long way. Overall a decent spot for relaxing on a beautiful island.
The cottage with large terrace was a really special time, a highlight of our many trips to Italy.
We had a beautiful and fun time. We especially liked to sit outside on the terrace in the dappled sunlight.
Every morning we went into Anacapri on the bus for coffee, then explored the town and surrounds. (The garden of Axel Munthe Villa is exceptional.) We then shopped for fresh produce to make a simple yummy vegan lunch and dinner. We prepared and ate meals at the outdoor table. We felt blessed.
The pool was awesome. We had the lovely property to ourselves as there were no guests in the other cottage.
Late afternoon weâd take a bus down to the Blue Grotto beach area to swim. Itâs possible to swim into the Blue Grotto after the boats leave at 5pm.) Then back to the cottage for a sunset cocktail and pasta.
The cute cottage is quite small, so we had to run a tight ship. My suitcase went under the bed. The kitchen and bathroom are adequate. Exactly as expected.
We felt peaceful, relaxed and happy, living the simple life as per our plan, a different experience for us as we usually stay in hotels, and when in Capri weâve always stayed down in Capri town (which is fabulous).
We met many friendly locals, many didn't speak much or any English which was fun. The town felt very real. We were surprised to find we loved Anacapri!
Luciana was super and kind. We could text her about anything, even a grocery list. Sheâd contact the Italian speaking store and theyâd deliver!
We loved our stay! Weâd like to come back for longer! Thank you!
We stayed here for a week at the end of August and loved our stay here. This rental was exactly as described: the views are spectacular and photos accurately show what you are getting. Candace and Pepino were excellent and gracious hosts and were always available when we needed them or wanted recommendations of what to do, where to go, etc. We used the bus at least twice a day, so it was really nice that there is a stop close to the rental. The private terrace is huge for a 1 bedroom unit, and we spent a lot of time there eating, reading, relaxing and enjoying the views. The pool is great too and offers more excellent views. We walked twice down to Grotta Azzurra (and took the bus back afterwards) and the nearby Gradola beach.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay here again!
Candace and her husband were such friendly hosts. From the booking through to our very last day, they helped us with everything needed, and went above and beyond what we could have imagined. The property was perfect for us with its privacy, pool, beautiful gardens, and watching the sunset every night from the terraces. The location is perfect as itâs located near two of the best restaurants in Anacapri, a bus stop right near the house, as well as a grocery delivery and a great taxi driver that works with the hosts. We definitely will come back! Thank you Candace and Pepe!

Stunning location - magnificent sunsets and the bonus of a fabulous pool
Put simply the views at La Chimera are beyond stunning. To sit amongst such beauty is calming and restorative, the saltwater pool is a delight as are the hosts Candace and Pepino - they simply couldnât do enough for us. With their help we not only saw all of the island we also dined in lovely restaurants which were off the beaten track.
The accommodation is basic but meets ones needs for a short break. Remember you are literally surrounded by nature so be prepared to use spray and repellent to avoid being bitten.
If you are look for peace, beauty, hospitality and kindness then this is the place for you.
Candace was a gracious & friendly hostess. It was a pleasure meeting her, Pepino & Piccolo. What a treat to live in such a beautiful setting. We fell in love with Italy and their location was so beautiful we didn't want to leave! Thank you for everything, Eric and Angela
