Girdwood is a small outdoor and skiing community located 30 miles south of Anchorage. Home of Mt. Alyeska and Alyeska Resort, Girdwood is the perfect place to spend your Alaskan getaway for skiing, snowboarding, fishing, hiking, and exploring south-central Alaska.

The Girdwood Valley Guest House is nestled in the trees with privacy, yet close enough to all amenities. The property is less than 1.5 miles to Girdwood Town Center and less than a mile to the Ski Day Lodge.

The house includes over 4,700 square feet of living area, along with multiple decks, hot tub, and EV charger. The large family room includes a large 4K Roku TV with Klipsch surround system, poker and pool tables, and a Bowflex adjustable weight bench set. There is a formal dining area, breakfast bar, wood stove, large custom kitchen with stainless appliances, three full baths, and a large laundry room. Each floor includes a Bluetooth TEAC / Curtis Mathes Vacuum Tube Stereo System. Beautiful original oil paintings throughout the house by Eugene Daymude, Charles Handford, Edmund Blouin, James Kendrick, Robert Rucker, and Collette Pope Heldner. As well, there is a garage large enough to park your vehicle and store outdoor gear. Enjoy the stellar views of the Girdwood Valley from the large windows in the living room, dining area, and from the deck.

House includes HD YouTube TV and best available Wi-Fi in Alaska (GCI RED).

The house is stocked with shampoos and conditioners, soaps, laundry detergent (Hypoallergenic Ecos), toilet paper, paper towels, condiments, dressings, popcorn, flour, sugar, cooking oils, vinegars, spices / seasonings, etc. The house has coffee stations in the basement and on the first floor that are stocked with coffee, tea, sugar, Truvia, Sweet 'N Low, and creamers.

Please note this is a residential neighborhood, loud parties are not allowed! As well, a maximum of the three cars at the house at one time and no parking in the street.

Great fishing and touristy stay
Some friends and I rented this house for our stay. We were able to use it as our base for doing some fishing down the peninsula and just being a tourist. Great place to relax, enjoy Girdwood and cook. Beautiful house, we will definitely be back. Thanks

Not our first time staying in this amazing house. It was great to use the new hot tub and enjoy the new rooms that have been added! Really hope to return again soon for another relaxing weekend! Thank you so much for the Girdwood memories!

Don’t rec for winter unless have vehicle with spikes
The house was nice and it’s close to the ski slopes. Property manager was great! However, it is located high up in the neighborhood and the road wasn’t maintained during our entire stay. We were unable to drive up to the house and had to park in neighbors drive and walk up the road to the house for 3 of our 4 night stay. We did speak with the owner regarding this who confirmed it’s supposed to be plowed and graveled each day and he would call to make sure it was done. It never was. We also sustained damage to vehicle due to the unmaintained road. All and all, way too much stress for what it was worth and what we payed. I did request a partial refund due to being unable to access the house except by foot and the owner declined as “he doesn’t control the roads”. So if you stay here in winter, make sure you have a vehicle that can drive on steep, icy, unmaintained roads.

Clean, big and beautiful. We had a wonderful time! Kitchen stocked well with extra items like a crockpot and griddle. Make sure you have 4-wheel drive during the winter months.

Perfect for a multi-family getaway!
We had a blast staying at the Girdwood Getaway! It is tucked away from the action of the ski hill, but is close enough for easy access. The home had everything we needed for our stay, and the kids loved the games room. The big surprise was the luxurious ensuite off the Master Bedroom! Highly recommended as a place to unwind!

Excellent place to stay
We stayed here on a ski vacation with a large group of adults and had a wonderful time. The only problem was that some cars could not get up the road to the house as it was quite icy. The house is well-appointed and we appreciated the garbage pickup midweek. Too bad there isn't any recycling in Girdwood.

Perfect Cottage in Girdwood with Great Amenities
One of the highlights of my trip to Alaska was the quality of this cottage. I visited with a group of 6 other adults and there was plenty of room for us all to spread out. The hot tub was very clean/new, the view from the balcony was spectacular, the kitchen was well stocked and there were plenty of games to keep us busy. Aside from the quality of property, I also want to emphasize the effort that the owner/manager put in throughout the rental process. From the moment I booked my stay, the line of communication was open for whatever I needed leading up to our visit. The rental agent was very flexible at making sure our group was taken care of regardless of what we might have needed. Overall I couldn’t have chosen a better place to spend the week at while skiing around Alyeska. If I ever have the opportunity to visit this part of the world again, I hope that I could stay here again!
