Get what you pay for

Booked a cheap hotel so didn't expect too much. Room was reasonably clean, but hairs in bath and bed put me off. carpet could have been cleaner too. Some staff were helpful, others were surly. Disco on Friday night was loud, but bearable. Couldn't see it on the website anywhere, but I had read about it in the reviews so I was prepared and they warned me about it as soon as we checked in. Shower was ok for the Boyfriend but when I got in it was initially too hot but then went stone cold and I could not get it to get warm, so had to use the tiny glasses to wash my hair with water from the bath taps, so this annoyed me as I was freezing. Sash window in the room did not shut properly and was drafty. Chose a full English breakfast which was cooked well. Only one piece of toast though and was not approached again to ask it we wanted anything else or if everything was ok. It was advertised that there was a large selection of pastries, fruit, muffins etc There was some very old looking fruit inc black bananas, the choice of pastries was one crossiant and the cereal option was limited too. There was no muffins or orange juice, only cranberry or apple. If they advertise it, it should be available and you shouldn't need to ask or search for things. Paid £49 and I have had better, but I have also had worse. I don't think I would stay again unless I had a better room.

Nice hotel at a great location

The Location was superb , right at the town centre. Sometime noisy from Outside but most of time much within the tolerance limit. Nice Bar..decent breakfast... Wi-Fi free internet was having some trouble ..very poor signal strength in my room. Overall worth recommending..and will stay there again.

Ideal for our purpose of meeting friends and a 1 night stay. Slightly shabby, plumbing old but clean. We had 2 rooms, one much nicer than the other. Lot of external noise but didn't bother our party as we were all so tired after a long drive and a party.Breakfast was absolutely excellent

Beware when booking that there is a nightclub every Friday and Saturday evening from 21.00 until 2.00 - this is not mentioned on the website, we were planning to leave early each morning, and therefore did not get much sleep.

Friendly, value hotel

An excellent price for this centrally located hotel, with friendly helpful staff. The big drawback is noise outside in the town square, loud drunks leaving a nearby pub at 12.45am; then 5.00am the council road sweeper starts up. If you can sleep through anything this shouldn't be a problem.

Don't stay here if you want to sleep!

This downstairs of this hotel turns into a nightclub on a Friday and Saturday night, the hotel staff did not warn us of this and I could not find any information about this on the website. Our room was on the first floor and the noise from the disco was ridiculous, our room vibrated with the noise from the bass, there was no chance of getting any sleep before the disco finished at 2am. The hotel manager was very rude and unhelpful. I would certainly never go back to this hotel.

My Not So Memorable Stay in Andover

I arrived at midnight ..... very very noisy!! I was tired, having travelled a few hours by car. How anyone could get any sleep at all on a Friday night, I don't know. Noise went on until the early hours. Once the disco had finished at 2 a.m. people then congregated at the front of the hotel until at least 4 a.m. They're certainly not going to get repeat business from me. Unless you want to disco until 2 p.m. this is NOT the place to stay. I am told the disco is also on a Saturday night! Thank goodness for earplugs. I did manage to get a few hours sleep. You hear every move with noisy floor boards. The whole place needs a face lift. They've done bits, but don't think that this is enough. If they are relying on repeat business, this isn't one for me. One good thing, the breakfast was enjoyable.

Clean, convenient, great customer service!

Stayed for a one night business trip. Staff are extremely helpful and credit to the hotel! Food is typical pub food but plenty of alternatives near by. Would stay again.

Ideal location

righjt in the middle of Andover. Very clean and extremely spacious room. great value for money. Lovely breakfast. Andover is not a great place to stay but if you do have to go there I would recommend this hotel. Hotel staff very polite. Breakfast a little slow mainly due to lack of staff but no problem for a weekend stay

avoid late arrival

Due to a late flight I did not arrive at the hotel until 12:15AM. There was no one around and it was basically all locked up. I had to find a way in via another guest and help myself to a room key on the board behind the desk. Not quite the service I was expecting.

Australians staying the night

We had a lovely stay, the manager was very friendly and could not do enough to make you feel welcome. The meal was very good at a reasonable price and the 4 of us enjoyed our stay.
