The room was lovely but the hotel employees were so unhelpful. I am a 71 year old widow. I went for New Years Holiday. My room was on the 3rd floor, no elevator and no help with baggage. I had two glasses of wine on New Year's Eve at the bar. It was like pulling teeth to get waited on. They were more interested in all the regulars. Then I sign a tab, should have looked at it. I disputed it afterward but still got charged for the drinks the couple sitting next to me had. Make sure you scrutinize every room charge, they will take advantage of you and put the wrong drinks on the wrong tab. And the food is pretty much hospital food, Marriot, airplane kind of food. So, nice location, poorly managed. Don't mind ripping old people off.

Staff were very professional yet amiable. The sink in our room had a faulty stopper mechanism. Rather than making correction the stopper mechanism was simply removed. Bed was extremely comfortable, the pillows not so much. Overall a nice experience. The detailing of the rooms interior displayed a true eye for detail.

Property is beautiful but our deluxe room was small. We paid extra for balcony that ended up being a shared area - Erica at the front desk is awesome but the rest of the staff was moderately friendly and didn’t seem thrilled to be there. Location was awesome

I heard that there will be a free continental breakfast, but there was not. Hot water not working on arrival but fixed quickly. Room temperature rose above the setting on heat. Had to turn on AC to get it back in the low 70s. Good light blocking drapes. Very nice property. Restaurant on property is average but lots of casual options in town. Very close to shops, scenic areas, historic sites and St. George’s Island.

The Gibson Inn is one of my favorite hotels in all of Florida, if not the Southeastern USA. You just can’t beat old world charm and they just keep making the place better and better with improvements that don’t take away from its historical beauty. We were there this past summer, and upon coming back this week, they’ve put in a swimming pool! Parking has been improved and they’re adding a second restaurant. As usual, you get a great night’s sleep because of how quiet and peaceful Apalachicola is, plus the beds are very comfortable. Bathrooms are beautiful as usual. I wish I had gotten in earlier so I could’ve had dinner and a drink at the bar, it’s always good. The only thing I do miss is that they switched over to plastic electric room cards like every other hotel…I miss the old keys! Thanks again for another great stay. Be back soon.
