This self-catering accommodation provides family and friends with a taste of the country life within a tranquil setting, and only the trickling stream and pond is between you and miles of glorious countryside. After a long day out sightseeing, why not sit on the terrace looking out to the farm with a glass of wine and in winter nestle up by the log burning fire. This Kent holiday home is the ideal place to base your stay whether for a long weekend or longer summer holiday with family and friends.
Lovely hosts. The cottage was clean, comfortable and very well equipped, donât worry if youâve forgotten anything! Has been decorated since photographs were taken so now more country cottage than Scandinavian. Terrace and outside of property very dusty but it is a farm yard and the weather was extremely hot. The cottage stayed cool if you kept the curtains closed during the day.
Loads to do in Kent, would recommend Hythe, Leeds castle, Sissinghurst castle gardens (especially the tour of the cottage with Bobbo!) and walking the white cliffs of Dover.
The farm is almost exactly 1/2 mile down Brabourne Road at the bottom of the hill. We didnât find it well signposted.
I needed somewhere to stay to recharge the batteries and switch off from a stressful job. Cowslip Cottage was the perfect setting for this. I woke up to the gentle trickling from the pond opposite the cottage and cows grazing peacefully.
The cottage itself was cosy and welcoming (and surprisingly large!) and had everything I needed for my stay. Janet and her daughter, Clare took me, with her children to feed their pigs which was fun!
The recliner chair was my favourite spot after a day wandering around Canterbury, Hythe and my trek up to Wye Nature Reserve, which was literally opposite the cottage front gate. The panoramic views were beautiful and well worth the uphill climb.
I came alone this time, but will be back next year with my partner, who I know will love the cottage and surrounding area. Thank you to Janet for a lovely, relaxing stay.
