Unfortunately, the room was full of insects, most of them dead.
However, the view of the garden was beautiful and the breakfast - not included in the price - was a treat!
Stayed just one night to be close to the airport. Easy check in & comfortable room. Beautiful grounds & the nicest people served a delicious breakfast.
This was a pleasant, if basic, property with a picturesque tropical garden backdrop and views. The only issue was finding the place! There was a small circular sign mounted beside the entry gate but partially obscured by overgrown vegetation.
Bigger sign please and keep it trimmed.
Our stay at Eden Atenas was short but lovely. The host was very helpful throughout the stay and especially in arranging easy private transportation from the airport. The included breakfast was delicious! We wish we could have stayed there longer.
The staff was very welcoming and the breakfast in the morning was fabulous. The view from the veranda was spectacular. I love the Rancho and the surrounding lush Gardens. Thank you for a lovely stay. We will be back.
The grounds of the property were beautiful. The room however had a horrible bed. There was a fridge in the room but no glasses to drink from. This property was close to other houses with dogs. The dogs were barking most of the night.
We were warmly welcomed to this pretty hotel set on a hill lush with trees and flowering plants. The pool is inviting and breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed a beautiful drive to Atenes along a good road (Route 3 through San Mateo) from the west, and it was an easy shot to SJO airport the next day. We had a delicious traditional Costa Rican dinner at El Fogon Campesino. Only caveat might be for someone who craves total silence. As in many places in Costa Rica, bird and animal sounds abound in the early morning! Atenes is famous for its climate, and we were very comfortable, even wanted a light wrap in the evening.
Other than the cockroaches, bug bites, and the dog who screamed at the moon all night, the grounds were beautiful and the manager was rocking Metallica over breakfast.
