The bedroom has a comfortable queen bed, a rainfall shower in the bathroom as well as a modern always clean composting toilet. we have upgraded the hot water heater that works fantastic.

Very nice little cottage. Fit me and my two friends well enough but would be very comfortable for two people or a couple plus one other person. We loved hiking around the property. Beautiful hiking trails and pretty extensive too. Had a blast exploring them. The host was friendly and welcoming but gave us plenty of privacy. Will definitely come back someday.

So this place when walked in was only half cleaned. Dog hairs all over the couch and bed. The floor was consistently sticky and we no matter how many times cleaned it up. All sorts of bugs throughout the stay inside(roaches, wasps, potato bugs), the shower doesn't drain so that was unnerving not knowing how much of that water has been in there still from previous guests. Also the bathroom is basically a porta pot you go into a bucket type deal so that was pretty gross as well. Rent at your own risk!!

Tiny but decent. Quiet. But bring any dining and eating necessities as it's limited that way. Old air fryer and coffee pot there. Liked the outdoor spaces to wander for sure. Hot water jiffy as it's an on demand heater so that can change quickly too.

My husband, our yellow lab and I stayed just 1 night in March. We arrived at 3pm when the temperature was approximately 40 during the day and 30 at night. Inside, the temperature inside was the same as outside. We turned on the only heat source, a space heater, to 80. When we came back around 10 that night the overall temperature in cottage was around 50. However, the floor in the cottage never warmed up, it was freezing cold the entire time. Between the comforter, an extra blanket found in the cupboard and sleeping with our socks, sweatpants, and sweatshirts on, we were able to sleep comfortably. In the morning the air temperature inside was considerably colder and when we tried to turn on the water to shower and brush our teeth, all water was frozen. When we contacted the host he stated he hoped it would be thawed out soon and the weather was just so unpredictable in Ohio anymore. We left an hour later without getting to shower. We used bottles of water to brush our teeth.I must say the bed was very comfortable and the extra blanket and pillows was nice

The floor was damp throughout the weekend and felt sticky at times, so we had to keep our shoes on. It was a bit of an adjustment to the compost toilet but overall it was a pretty nice property with some getting used to.

Absolutely lovely time we had a lot of fun toilet was a little confusing cuz we've never used those and the water to get it hot was a little confusing but he has descriptions of how everything works we're just not that bright with it hahaha it was just a lovely time.

The room was not very clean in that there were cobwebs over the bed. We slept on top of the blankets because we couldn’t bring ourselves to turn down the bed. Had the property not been so far off a main road after dark we would have left after arriving. We were unable to make it our first night and messaged the host. We checked out before we ever even hear back so communication isn’t great. Composting toilet is a no for us. Lots of directions to be able to pee and shower and wash hands. Now, with all that said, if you like the back woods and rustic luxury, this might be the place for you.

Took my first solo trip with just my dog and I to do some hiking/exploring. This was the perfect little getaway spot for us. It was very cozy and we loved exploring the property! We even hit up strouds run park and the beach which was only a 7 minute drive from the property! We definitely will be visiting again soon

Beautiful property, great host with very good communication, very cozy and a great place for a peaceful getaway. We got to explore the cave and pond a little bit but didn’t get to see the trails. I can’t wait to be back and check them out! Highly recommend!

Quiet retreat

We were attending a bluegrass festival nearby and the cottage served our needs perfectly. The location was near Athens, yet very remote and only 15 minutes from Poston Lake music venue.

Cozy Country Cabin

We adored the rolling hills and vast landscapes of SE Ohio, all the more thanks to the VRBO we stayed in. Chad was an excellent host, and any questions we had were answered promptly. We didn't get a chance to explore the grounds surrounding our cabin due to time but if we stay again we will! PLUS the chickens that live on the land are so cute :)
