Outdoor Adventure Near University-Kid Friendly

This 2 bedroom apartment is seconds away from Stroud's Run State Park and Dow Lake and a short 12-minute scenic drive to Ohio University and Athens. The living room is a comfortable space that opens into a fully furnished kitchen that is great for small gatherings and children. Childproof oven knobs and cabinet locks are available, and a majority of electrical outlets are childproof.

The first bedroom has a king bed, and the second bedroom has a twin-over-full bunk bed that is suited for both children or adults, and includes books and toys for children.

Sit outside on the porch and you might catch a glimpse of wildlife. The space is great for small gatherings of friends, or families visiting Ohio University.

There are 2 playgrounds nearby, one in the Stroud's Run Campground area, and the second is located on the beach at Dow Lake.

Strouds has some of the best mountain biking trails in Ohio, and you can rent a boat (pontoon, canoe, kayak or swan paddleboat!) from the Boat Dock. Swim at the beach, and spend some quality time with family or friends knowing you have a clean space to return to, relax and unwind.

It is quite a way away from town, but if the park is your biggest attraction then it’s not bad. Very clean, bed was comfortable. Rooms were comfortable, open concept worked well. Did get to hear coyotes and saw deer several times in the yard. Upstairs renter had a heavy foot, heard every move he made but he wasn’t there the whole time we were. Bring or buy before you get there everything you would want to cook. There are plates, pans and utensils. Not even salt and pepper. If I was going to be a hermit and wanted to have a quiet place to relax this could be perfect, if upstairs wasn’t rented.

Cozy escape from campus!

My husband and I are OU alumni. We came to Athens to visit my brother-in-law in his senior year. I always loved spending time at Strouds when I was in school and it was so fun to stay at this oasis right off the hiking trails. Wish we would’ve had more time to explore the outdoors, but we were mostly on campus, which was an easy and beautiful drive! We will definitely be back to this home next time we visit. It was clean and had everything we needed for the weekend.

Quaint cabin in the woods

We had a great time at hOUmecoming and this place was perfect. Cute, rustic, secluded and Lyft come there! We nicknamed the very friendly cat, Jerry. Overall great experience.

Quaint private apartment

We enjoyed our private getaway on 14 acres in Athens! Recently renovated with everything needed for a weekend. The owner was conscious of responding immediately if needed. We would definitely stay here in the future!
