We stayed at Hotel Indigo Atlanta Downtown yesterday, and unfortunately, it was a terrible experience. The room had a strong, unpleasant smell. Carpet also had a bad odor. The bathroom had no exhaust fan. Heater was not working, and the thermostat was broken. The hotel did not even provide a TV remote controller in the room. Overall, the property feels old and in urgent need of renovation. Surprisingly, despite being listed as a 4-star hotel, there is no proper parking facility. Honestly, I don’t understand how Expedia has rated this property as 4-star.

The good: Very clean and solid ambiance. Fairly convenient to food and other needs. Valet was very friendly and quick. Restaurant was disorganized and scattered, also incredibly overpriced but staff was friendly and food was… fair. The bad: The front desk staff was good with one exception. There was an Indian man who refused to believe me that my key to the elevator wasn’t working. He claimed “that doesn’t happen here” in a condescending way… so, I had to show him after he pretended to fix my key and it didn’t work, again. Then, my other key wouldn’t work for the room. He pretended and claimed to fix that one too but it didn’t do anything and I am sure he was just pretending to fix the issue. Finally he issued two new keys. The guy just needs training or something because he really took my experience back a notch. Overall the stay was fine and the hotel was very clean and bed was nice.
