Rudeness

Although the cabin was very nice and clean the surrounding neighborhoods was not. At first we thought gps had gotten us lost. As we were trying to lock up and leave to go eat a lady in a black ford pulls in and blocked our vehicle. She got out and ask us what we were doing there. I told her that we were trying to get the door locked. She then asked us who are ya'll. I explained that we had rented the room for the night and she said nobody was booked. I told her I had the confirmation email would she like to see it. She then said I forgot about ya'll staying. She never introduced herself and treated us like common criminals as she jumped out of her truck to confront us. She was less than pleasant to deal with and we were uncomfortable. Maybe for future reference whoever she was should remember this is a hospitality business and treating the guest with respect is a must as well as introducing yourself before you grill your guest. I have never in all my years of traveling been treated so poorly

New Year's Weekend

My friend Inga and I were in Atmore for a gathering of our Hot Air Balloon friends, hosted by one that lives in Atmore. We were at first cautious when we were driving to the Cottage because of the location, but when we walked in we were immediately put at ease, as Fern and her husband have made this cottage so comfortable, clean, with lots of extra touches to make you really feel welcome. From the note left around telling you what you need to know to make this feel like a home away from home, to the snacks, water, coffee for our use were very thoughtful and beyond what was expected of a rental. All of my ballooning friends now know about this cottage and the local friends had no idea that there was anything like this offered in the area...they do now! :) as this is going to be an annual event for New Year's we will all be scambling to see who gets it rented each year. After we checks out and were on our way back to Mississippi, my friend realized that she had forgotten a pair of shoes by the door. We contact Fern and her husband graciously made arrangements to get these returned to us by mail. We would highly recommend this comfortable cottage if you are in this area. The only draw back was the first night there were lots of traffic on the road beside the cottage but by the 2nd night, we hardly notice. Go ahead, rent with confidence that the place will be cleaned and ready to welcome you.
