The place has such a wonderful relaxing atmosphere. Beautiful touches that make it feel luxurious and soothing. Gorgeous vintage decor and comfy bed. The waterfall view and sound is so pretty. Highly recommend.
We enjoyed a relaxing weekend stay at the cute and cosy Waterfall Hideaway. The studio was clean, tidy and exactly as the listing described with stylish retro decor and a comfy bed.Kim is a super responsive and accommodating host which made booking, check-in and checkout a breeze. With a great location close to Matakanaâs markets and vineyards, and the added bonus of the native bush and waterfall outlook weâd definitely make a return visit!
On a rainy day, to relax inside with that beautiful setting and noise from the waterfall all night was absolute bliss. We absolutely loved our stay here and would definitely book again!
A lovely, relaxing place to stay. Cosy decor and peaceful views out to the trees and waterfall. Close to local attractions yet far enough away to be restful. A retro vibe within a lovely setting.
Cosy private studio with amazing views of waterfall and treesVery good access to Matakana and Snells beach. Excellent communication Would certainly stay again
As you step through the unassuming white door, you arrive in a spacious studio hideaway with a view across a green gully into the tops of a forest of large Totara trees. The room is furnished in a relaxed old-world style, with olive-green walls, tall wooden bifold windows, an ensuite bathroom and a private terrace overlooking the waterfall below. This is how I could imagine paradise to be.We had a wonderfully relaxing time and are so grateful to you for having us to stay, I'm sure we will be back.
My stay was brief, but it was the perfect spot to disconnect and recharge.
Communication was very clear, and reaponses quick despite me asking a question quite late one night. I would love to come back sometime, thankyou again!
Beautiful decor, serene and relaxing environment. Had a little mishap but was handled by Kim who was very kind and forgiving. Lots of interesting books there to read and Matakana itself is a wonderful place to shop and look around.
had a wonderful time staying with my partner here. view of the waterfall was lovely, and being able to hear it all the time was relaxing. just a short drive to matakana village too.
The Waterfall hideaway is a very quiet, peaceful and relaxing space to stay.
We had everything we needed, and found it to be a warm and comfortable place.
As always, an entirely relaxing, peaceful hideaway.
A quaint, rustic 'çottage' - well separated from the owner's home, with an idyllic view of a waterfall and forest.
Left to ourselves (just how we like it) but only 2 minutes drive from the Matakana township.
Lovely outlook. Ideal for an elderly couple such as us. Excellent selection of reading material and a delightful introductory message. What could be improved for our next visit? Tighten the seat on the loo and upgrade the bed linen.
