Overview - Panoramic Sea and Valley Views
Summary:
Overview is a peaceful hideaway set high above the island, offering uninterrupted views across the ocean, valleys, and rolling hills, and absolute privacy with no neighbours in sight. This is a place to slow down, breathe deeply, and take in the beauty of Waiheke from your own hilltop perch.
The Space:
Overview is a stand-alone hilltop retreat positioned to make the most of its elevated setting and wide views. Large windows and sliding doors bring the surrounding landscape into the living area and bedroom, while the deck provides an open place to sit outside and take in the sea, valley, and rural outlook.
Inside, the home is comfortable and simply arranged for two guests. The lounge includes relaxed seating and a wood-burning fire, making the property suitable for both summer stays and cooler winter escapes.
The fully equipped kitchen provides everything needed for preparing meals during your stay. The home operates on solar power, allowing it to function independently while still providing the everyday comforts required for a relaxing island getaway.
The bedroom has a king bed and enjoys natural light and views of the surrounding landscape.
Outside, the private deck is well positioned for breakfast, afternoon drinks, or watching the changing light and weather across the island. The remote ridgeline location creates a strong sense of privacy, with no neighbouring properties visible from the home.

We love the secluded location, with magnificent views wherever you look. The accommodation provided everything you need and it was great to get away from TV and just enjoy nature.
Great place, with everything we needed. Best part was the views and lovely deck to enjoy them on. Very private, but definitely need the 4wd to get up the driveway as listed.
So very relaxing simply not only enjoying the vistas from every angle this unpretentious little hut offers but also the fact that it caters so adequately for all the basic needs one has - without a television set. Loved our stay even though the driveway is somewhat terrifying. Property management staff outstanding.
The property is gorgeous—extremely secluded, with stunning views (even by Waiheke standards!) of multiple bays and vineyards. The house is small but well-equipped, modern, and clean. No surprises. If you want somewhere to just hang out and chill it would be hard to beat.
The flip-side of the seclusion is you will probably have to drive (or be driven) anywhere you want to go. (Casita Miro is a half-hour walk; Ostend is probably about a 25 minute walk.) This was fine for us as we had previously been staying elsewhere on the island and so just wanted somewhere quiet. I wouldn’t call it a negative—just something to be aware of.
Booking, check-in and check-out were all easy.
